Bodyguards got its beginnings in 1999, during a dream Matt had. Matt and I were sitting in second period doing nothing like normal, wondering what life was going to do to us that day. Matt said last night I had this dream about a Half-Life mod which featured Bodyguards protecting celebrities from being assassinated. I didn't know much about making games and was kind of skeptical but I said that would be cool if we could do it. I loaded up Worldcraft on my laptop and said I will be co-leader and I will be a mapper. I had tried to map before but I could never understand why my maps had things poking out of the wall etc., at that moment I figured it out that Worldcraft made things in 3-D, thus began my mapping career. We didn't have much success at first, we had a guy to make models for us and then we never heard from him again. We gave up on the mod and stopped working, then Matt and I got motivated again and we started work again. The mod got a jump start when Planet Half-life did a small review of the mod on their site. That day we added a 3D modeler to our team named *DEAD*Ferret and then the rest of the team started to come and the mod started to become a reality. Our mod hit a speed bump though when we found out that Anarchy Software was copyrighted, so Matt and I sat around and let our little minds think of new names for our mod team and we came up with Mass Hysteria Games. Our mod is currently under work but should be completed by December 31, 2999.
